Lily Allen's Fear

Lily Allen's latest video for The Fear is the ultimate in ironies. The tongue-in-cheek diddy demonizes crass consumption and celebrity culture whilst the singer goes from a trailer park setting to a bubble gum estate. The Busby Berkeley style choreography features dancing presents, servants, and balloons. When the single was leaked online several months ago it was rumored that the track was created poking fun at uber-stylist Rachel Zoe and her celebutante friend Lindsay Lohan. Regardless of the source of inspiration, the message pretty much falls flat because after spending entirely too long to complete the few tracks for her overdue album she has only maintained her self in the media with debauched, outlandish behavior, dramatic weight loss,  and luxury shopping sprees. So when discussing "The Fear", what are you afraid of Lily?

When The World Is Your Gyno

I have mixed feelings about the dress Lindsay Lohan wore to Dolce & Gabanna's La Dolce Vita event in Cannes. Her hair and makeup look amazing as usual. I even like her shoes. Based on the hosts of the event, I can only assume she is wearing a frock from the Italian design duo.

The palette and the pattern on the dress itself are a nice contrast to her skin tone. However, it does look a little plasticine and uncomfortable...if not a bit like something that would appear on an alien in a retro Star Trek episode or some sort of theme park costume. That being said I often celebrate the eccentric.

My only real complaint is this is laughably short. I'm not even sure if you can really call it a dress. It's take-a-seat-and-share-your-business-with-the-world length. I don't think I need to remind anyone she has quite a collection of sitting vag shots. I'll refrain from linking to some cause who really needs to revisit? This goes in my "I Would Have Amassed Massive Med School Debt If I Wanted to Be Your Gyno" file (or IWHAMMSD for short). What do you think? (click images to enlarge)

Givenchy Scandal

I just got off the phone with a good friend from Givenchy and he said that they had developed and ankle boot/sandal mash-up that had been selling exceptionally well. As much as I think the  ankle boot is hot, most of the time I see it worn with outfits that just don't seem appropriate and it is getting a little played out.

Enter the Scandal boot. Givenchy's edgy offering. I'm not sure how I feel about this shoe. For what works out to be just under $1200 American dollars I'd want my shoe to look a little less like something that came from Fredericks of Hollywood. There is however something kind of sharp and fun about the play on texture and shape.
