Years ago I worked with a number of contemporary artists and became caught up in a scuffle between Tom Sachs and his art dealer at the time, Mary Boone. I was considered somewhat responsible for his eventual split with his gallery..which pissed a number of people off and got me into a bit of hot water.
That being said, I have always been a fan of his creations which have been embraced by the fashion community despite the fact that they are basically a source of ridicule in his work. Inspired by Duchamp, he's created Chanel guillotines, Prada toilets, and Gucci chainsaws along with a considerable list of luxurious instruments of death. After being commissioned to produce Vogue's Fashion Award he came up with an axe lodged in a base with a single Swarovski crystal dangling from its handle.
The artist's latest fashionable creation are these "Kill All Artists" Ts that are available for only $50 dollars from his website. Considering his works go for millions it's a great deal which according to the artist "help you land a sweet piece of ass." Get them online HERE.
