Urban Outfitters pulled shirts of their stores with: "I support same-sex marriage" splashed all over the front. A spokesperson stated that the shirts were being yanked because they received "bad press". Out.com notes:
"Urban Outfitter CEO Richard Hayne is a right-wing Republican who supports senators who vote for legislation against gay marriage"
The admission that the shirts were being pulled due to negative media attention for having them in the first place says, "Yup, we'll take your money but don't expect us to.. you know.. actually support you". However, I would've expected more from a place that hawks kitschy uber-gay wares like flocked,hot pink Buddhas and lawn flamingos.
