Lara Flyn Boyle Is On The Loose

Lara Flynn Boyle is known for shtupping Jack Nicholson, making  questionable fashion decisions, and being painfully emaciated. I always thought that of all the chicks on Twin Peaks, Lara looked more like a smack addict than that chick who later got sliced up and sexually assaulted in that movie Kim Basinger never made. 

Here LFB appears at a Beverly Hills charity gala with her signature brand of strange sparkling in her eyes and smearing itself all over her ensemble. Look at her closely. Behind that smile you can tell she's probably the explosively insane girlfriend who delivers her most memorable performances in bed. A little something that may inspire both nightmares and fantasies from horndogs everywhere.

I'm going to assume that some sexcapade straight out of a harlequin romance would explain her appearance. After a romp with the parking valet, Lusty Lara couldn't find the top half of her ensemble. Naturally, she ripped his coat off and tossed it on as a substitute before kicking him aside and snarling, "Nice Ride". In the mad rush to make it over to the flashbulbs our sexpot must have forgotten to retouch her lipstick or put on her shoes.

First Looks: Yotam Solomon

LA based designer Yotam Solomon showcased his latest collection at BOXeight Studios. The Israeli native showcased a flowing collection in natural tones with architectural footwear of his own design. Overall the looks were creative and intriguing silhouettes that were awkwardly appealing, sophisticated and tasteful.

Daniel Vosovic Goes Inside Out

 

Instead of launching a collection post Project Runway, Daniel Vosovic has opted to write a book about how one should launch a collection. Huh? The title is a mouth full: "Fashion Inside Out: Daniel V's Guide to How Style Happens from Inspiration to Runway and Beyond" and Mr V says this regarding the work:

"I am trying to gain as much experience and knowledge before initially launching my own label. Some of the best designers in the world have failed because of one reason or another (though not due to a lack of talent) and if taking a little extra time to make sure that my team and myself, are in the right place to handle the workload, then I'm most certainly OK with that if it means I'll be around for decades and not just seasons."

A book about your non-existent fashion career is pretty strange for a "designer"...who doesn't have an actual line, however he did manage to enlist the advice of Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia, Todd Oldham and Diane Von Furstenburg to contribute to the tome. Get it HERE.
 

First Looks: Brian Lichtenberg SS09

Many attendees at the "official" IMG showings were a buzz with mumblings about this being the last season in Culver City. As much as this is true, I'm not sure I mourn the loss of the festivities. Nothing I saw at Smashbox Studios compared to the level of creativity of ANY of the designs that were presented at BOXeight Studios in downtown LA.

Case in point, Brian Lichtenberg's Spring/Summer 09 collection which showed off his evolved use of patchwork (this time sheer fabrics and lace versus holographic prints) and extraordinary head pieces by Franc Fernandez. The revealing designs were full of texture and optimism which are sure to go over well with his musician heavy clientele. Images by Dirk Mai, click to enlarge.

Chace Crawford: VMAN

Pretty Boy Chace Crawford appears on this month's cover of VMAN Magazine. This is just after his appearance on the cover of OUT with the other twinks from Gossip Girl. This should be no help to the gay rumors that have been chasing the young starlet since he first appeared onthe scene. The quote:

"I don’t know if I could pull off a Kevin Spacey, but I’ll try!”

Courtney Cox: Walking Dead

Halloween arrived early for Courtney Cox last night when she hit the town as "The Living Dead". To be fair, this what she wore to the launch of some video game so it wasn't totally inappropriate like if she were heading to a gala event or award show. However, there was a red carpet involved and this is one of those times she might have been better off not stopping on it for pictures.

Clearly it's been awhile since even a single ray of sunlight has kissed that alabaster skin. The effect is enhanced by her hair having been dyed jet-black and working a deep crimson tone on her lips. Between the dramatic hues of her hair and makeup, the look can be pulled off (see Rose McGowan, Dita Von Teese) if you're putting in a little more work in to the garment. This is where Miss CC fails. Right now she looks like she's fresh from a round of hacky-sack with the boys and is enroute to a Dave Matthews concert.
