This past week we celebrated National Underwear Day. Before you start on a diatribe along the lines of:
"These are the sorts of things that our government is concerning itself with? Declaring holidays in honor of thongs and panties?!"
...just understand that I already went there before a publicist stopped me to explain that it's basically an excuse to raise awareness for their client Freshpair and a charity that gives starving people in 3rd world countries clean underwear. Yup. Not silly at all.
Nonetheless, I sent my buddy David out to report on the festivities for me. He pretty much failed in capturing images. The event is a fashion show which typically takes place in Times Square, this time the event was at ESpace. Hosted by Lydia Hearst, the event was attended by Tyson Beckford, Philip Bloc, Robert Verdi, Richie Rich, Project Runway's Suede, and Russel Simmons among others. The gift bags included beauty products and booze and you guessed it.. underwear.
