Anna Wintour Destroyed In 60 Minutes

Watch CBS Videos Online

Morley Safer compares Anna "Nuclear Wintour" to "Darth Vader in a frock" while gushing that "her name strikes terror in some and loathing in others". Upon noting her age(!), he gets in a dig regarding her failed marriage and then he calls her a bitch... to her face.. while on camera. This is all just within the first minute of his segment for 60 Minutes.

The segment which features interviews with Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Alexander Wang, Nicholas Ghesquiere, and Bernard Arnault does illuminates that over the years she has raised money and visibilty for charitable causes. He describes her candor and appropriately professional demeanor to suggest: "I'm the boss and you're boring". OUCH!

Gawker
points out that CBS kindly neglected to mention just how bad things are for poor Anna. Talk about a crappy way to dive in the week. All the lady ever did was rescue a stale old pub by restoring credibility and relevance with her keen sensibility, focus, and determination.

The Infinite Dress

Lydia "Life of the Party" Silvestri shares just a few of the imagintive way you can wear the Infinite Dress. Watch in awe as she keeps coming up with new ways to turn a bright red tablecloth in to regurgitated awful. This is the LAST dress you will NEVER need to buy, modeled by an insane woman.

Matthew Williamson For H&M

The British colour connoisseur, Matthew Williamson, has launched lines for the budget retailer today. In addition to his beach friendly, fem fare he's also created his first ever menswear line. Looking over the boys goods I'm just tickled pink and decided that I want it all. Thankfully, due to the retailers recession friendly pricing I can do that for less than the cost of a single garment at YSL.

La Roux: Bulletproof

In For The Kill was the tune du jour for the artsy hipsters, fashionistas and fags a few months ago. Still riding out that buzz, La Roux released the video for Bulletproof just last week and it's even more remarkeable. Elly meanders through a visual maze of MC Escher meets Patrik Nagel.

Oedipus Wrecks: Make Me A Supermodel

Make_me_a_super_model_Meet_Amanda_1

Generally, I avoid those model reality shows like the plague. These shows have absolutely nothing to do with what it's really like in the fashion industry (the only exceptiopn would be Vogue's Model.Live.. which I LOVE). However, it's not much of a surprise that there isn't much truth to the genre. I've said it over and over, what's "real" about attractive young ladies competing to hop in to bed with Flavor Flav. Ok, the skank drama is likely to be semi authentic. I'm sure the shit gets nuts once he stops by Church's Chikn.

Anywhoo, imagine my surprise when something stupid come from the mouth of a model wannabe. A woman who is both a single mother AND a hypnosis assistant, Amanda from Bravo's "Make Me A Supermodel" recently explained her plan to make sure her son be heterosexual:

"I'm really, really open with my son like, I don't want him to become like, I mean, no offense like, gay when he's older. so like I'm always naked in front of him now."

[groans, drops head in hands] It's moments like these that I wonder if the concept of selective sterilization is all that bad.

Donatella Blogs Correspondents Dinner

Donatella versace and obama

My favorite leathery prune, Donatella Versace, went to the White House Correspondents' Dinner and she's shared a bit about her experience for all of us to enjoy. She brought Jonathan Rhys Meyers (swoon), and sat at Graydon Carter's table (pass the prunes). This is her first ever blog posting, which is certainly semi-adorable. In the bit for the Huffington Post she attacks Blackberry usage and defends Obama's choice of neckwear. Check out the piece in it's entirety HERE.
